It is now time for you to consider entering the Cunningham Cup.  I know it seems a long way off, but you may want to prepare now and send me your entries. Please note the image size requirements below.

This competition is about creating a panel of three images that work together.

1. You may submit 2 panels. Each panel must have a title.  “Untitled 1” etc. is not appropriate.

2. You are only to submit your final panel(s) and not the individual images.

3. This is an open competition – so you can choose any subject.

4. All the elements in your images must be your photography work and you cannot incorporate AI, clip art, or downloaded elements from other sources that are not your own work.

5. You cannot submit a panel of images that you have entered into this competition in previous years.

6. Scores from this competition go towards the CD Group end of year awards.

7.  Submission details can be found on the email sent to members on the 14th February.

Image Size

In order that the judge can view the three images within your panel without pixilation, your panel should be at least 4,000 pxls wide by 2,500 pxls high.  It can be larger in either dimension, depending on your aspect ratio.

File Name

To simplify things, your file should be named:   Panel title.jpg  and you should use sRGB colour profile.

Judging

Our judge is Podge Kelly.  Podge is based in Ireland and has judged this competition in the past.  His feedback is always well focused.

The three images in your panel should work together and can be in any configuration you choose.

The judge will take several aspects into account:
  • The technical quality of the photography (appropriate use of sharpness, colour, noise, framing etc.)
  • Visual interest of the photographs (showing something unusual, a different angle, telling a story.)
  • The power of the relationship between the images.
  • The strength and impact of the panel.
The closing date for entries is Monday 9th March.  Judging is Monday 30 March.

I look forward to seeing your work.

Best wishes
Alistair
