Discover Photography at its Finest

The Edinburgh Photographic Society proudly hosts world-class exhibitions that celebrate the art and craft of photography. Alongside our two Annual Members’ exhibitions, we organise Internationally recognised competitions for Prints and Projected Digital Images, attracting photographers from across the globe.

Our flagship event, the Edinburgh International Print Exhibition, has been held every year since 1861 – making it one of the longest-running photographic exhibitions in the world. Each summer, our galleries at 68 Great King Street come alive with hundreds of remarkable images, showcased as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Venue 130).

Complementing this is the Edinburgh International Exhibition of Projected Digital Images, which celebrates creativity in the digital format. This competition draws an exceptional standard of International entries and highlights the diversity and innovation of contemporary photography. An awards ceremony and  digital exhibition presentation takes place at our premises.

Throughout the year, we also host a varied programme of exhibitions from other organisations and clubs, including the Royal Photographic Society, the Dublin Camera Club, and Personal showcases from our Members. Each exhibition brings new perspectives and ideas, making our gallery’s a lively hub for photographic inspiration all year round.

Whether you’re an experienced photographer, an emerging talent, or simply curious, we invite you to visit, take part, and be part of our story.
