We’re pleased to welcome Michael Caithness for his annual talk – this years topic is Nceptions etc.

A photographer based in Edinburgh whose work focuses on finding the abstract and unexpected within both urban and natural landscapes. With a sharp eye for detail and composition, Michael seeks out moments that transform familiar surroundings into something quietly striking and thought-provoking.

His photography is driven by curiosity and observation, often revealing patterns, textures, and visual relationships that might otherwise go unnoticed. Alongside his personal practice, Michael has been deeply involved in the photographic community and is a past president of the Edinburgh Photographic Society. His work is shared widely through platforms such as Flickr, 500px, and Getty Images, and he holds Associate status with the Royal Photographic Society.
