Elena Mendoza – Framing Her. Women Photographers in Focus

We’re excited to welcome Elena Mendoza, an editorial and fine art photographer based in Edinburgh and working internationally. Elena’s work explores themes of culture, migration, and womanhood, with a strong focus on the human experience and the stories that connect us. Her projects weave together personal and collective narratives, using photography as a way to reflect on identity, place, and belonging.

Alongside her personal work, which has been widely exhibited and published, Elena works across editorial, design, and advertising, bringing a thoughtful and imaginative approach to every collaboration. A recent graduate of the Professional Photography programme at Kingston University, London, she has already received early recognition for her work, including being named a winner of Portrait of Britain 2025.

Inspired by contrast, diversity, and the poetic, Elena creates images that feel both intimate and expansive. We’re delighted to have her joining us to share her work, process, and the ideas that shape her practice.
